Whales, Dolphins and Birds, Oh My—Even Simians Caught My Eye

It's autumn in Long Beach. Does the shore beckon us even more?

Well, summer is done; the crowds are gone, but not our fantastic shore.

If you ask me, it’s even improved. Not that I don’t appreciate our vacationers or day trippers; they are good people enjoying life along with us.

Since Labor Day, I’ve enjoyed the clear skies and the cooler air. But also the dolphins, the whales, and a simian here and there.

Yes, whales have been out there; I know many of you have spotted them. Is there anything more wonderful than seeing these magnificent mammals bursting through the sea's surface?

They can put a smile on your heart.

I’ve been out with my camera capturing shore life at its best.
