If you’ve been walking, or biking or jogging our boardwalk or beach you may have seen them. If not you most certainly have spoken to someone who has. They’ve become the annual excitement, the splendor, the majesty, in the sea.
The whales have been around Long Beach for many weeks now. At one point, about a week ago, a pod of seven was spotted off Lincoln Blvd.
Photographers were delirious with the potential for dramatic actions shots. Wildlife lovers, well they just loved it.

The trick of course is to be in that elusive “right place at the right time”. But as the well known Woody Alan quote goes, “Eighty percent of success is just showing up".
