When Comfort is a Disability
They say there's no better bilge pump than a scared man with a bucket. True. But somebody's got to plug that damn hole.

Our Long Beach city government has always been at the mercy of fate. We rely on the weather to fill our beach park with visitors. That doesn't always work out well. City services demand funding whose costs keep rising, among other fiscal demands.
Then we put a lawsuit over waterfront property development on the back burner, simmering for decades as if it would somehow evaporate. It didn't, and we ended up with an abundance of "hot mess" as a young woman I spoke with called it.
We were bailing, bucket by bucket. Borrowing—to pay our bills. But we were sinking in red ink.

I had the pleasure to interview Liz Treston, Vice President of our current Long Beach City Council, who I think you'll be glad to hear about. She had much to tell me and I was impressed with it, her, and our new crew.
I think you will be too when you check out, When Comfort is a disability
Be well,
