Young Boy's Body Recovered In Waters Off Long Island
Official identification is pending, but it is likely the body of 10-year-old Ramell McRae, Jr., who went missing in the water on Tuesday.

The body of a boy was recovered from the waters of Long Beach Sunday afternoon, ending the search for the 10-year-old who drowned earlier this week.
According to Long Beach Police Department Lt. Mark Stark, the body was recovered around 12:30 p.m. by Nassau County Marine Bureau officers. It was then transported to the Jones Beach Coast Guard station, and then to the Nassau County Medical Examiner's office.
The body has not yet been officially identified as 10-year-old Ramell McRae, Jr., who drowned in a rip tide off Ocean Beach Park on Tuesday. Officials said the boy and his 11-year-old brother had taken the bus to Long Beach to go swimming without their parents. They got caught in a rip current near the jetties, and the younger boy was dragged under. His brother managed to make it back to shore and was unhurt.

Stark said the body was recovered about 250 yards out from Lincoln Boulevard Beach, about a mile east of where the two went into the water.
Though the body has not yet been officially identified, Stark said that the boy's mother was notified about the recovery, and that the police and life guards that had still been looking for the boy have officially ended their search.
