5 New Year Resolutions Every Home Owner Should Have
With the new year coming up I've compiled my top 5 resolutions every homeowner should have for 2017.

With the new year among us, every homeowner from new to old should have had at least one resolution pertaining to the roof over their head. Ideally, we would all love to live somewhere that looks like it needs to be featured on HGTV but in all reality 60% of home buyers fix as they go.
I will say for the people who have recently renovated their homes (assuming it looks stunning) Kudos to you! I’m extremely lazy not to mention cheap so paying someone to do something I can possibly do myself would be out of the question even if I must refer to a quick YouTube refresher.
A New Years Resolution is a to-do list for the upcoming year normally filled with fitness and wealth goals but today we’ll speak on behalf of all homeowners with this list.

1. “Clean Out My Garage”
I feel this one is on everyone’s list. I use my garage to store a bunch of old pieces of furniture, boxes from my mother’s house and random items. I would be able to actual park my project car in there and build a full auto shop with space.

2. “Finish My Basement Renovation”
Last year I called a Dumpster Rental Long Island company, grabbed up a few of my cousins and went to town on my basement. Full throttle sludge hammers and tearing down walls. Besides getting it done in just a few a days it was an awesome stress reliever. We finished the flooring and put up sheetrock (still not finished).
3. “Start a Garden”
I would say this is on the top of my wife’s list. Every year I am guilted into buying random seeds and landscaping equipment in hopes she’ll ever start but unfortunately, it only ends up in the garage which makes #1 a bigger job.
4. “Turn My House Into A Computer”
Personally my favorite, It’s a dream to turn my house to a living being like Jarvis but I’m always cut short due to funds so this year I settled for Alexa and an updated security system that integrate, with each other.
5. “Sell My Home and Buy Another”
Not on my list because I adore my neighborhood but on many of my friends and families list. Depending on where you live and local gentrification moving can have its ups and downs. Home Improvement services can be very expensive and selling with damage to a home can hurt you, I suggest waiting, fixing and then get on the market for a two family.
Let me know what you think of this list and if any of these were actually your new years resolution and how you made out.
