American Legion John R. Cacioppo Post 1848 in Medford donates $1,000 to help renovate The Vets Place in Yaphank.

American Legion John R. Cacioppo Post 1848 in Medford recently donated $1,000 to the renovation campaign for The Vets Place, a homeless shelter in Yaphank, NY run by Suffolk County United Veterans.
The Vets Place shelter will be transformed and modernized into a hub of services for Veterans. This summer, construction will begin with an expansion of the dining/multi-purpose room, offices and meeting rooms, overnight staff room, plus the addition of an elevator to assist Veterans with disabilities to access private services on the second floor. When complete, The Vets Place will become an improved facility that even better reflects the dignity that Veterans deserve.
