Stringtopia, the Long Island Mandolin and Guitar Orchestra at Great Neck Library

Join us for an afternoon of music ranging from International Folk, Ethnic, Light Classics, and Classical and Popular Songs from the Great American Songbook, all performed by members of this vibrant orchestra featuring mandolins, mandolas, guitars, mandocellos, string bass, drums, accordion, and vocalists.

The Long Island Mandolin and Guitar Orchestra (Stringtopia) began in 1957 as an adult education class sponsored by the Levittown School District in Nassau County. Since then, the orchestra has performed at libraries, churches, parks, marine academies, and for private organizations, including the Sons of Italy, throughout Suffolk, Nassau, and Westchester counties.

Stringtopia has also performed at Adelphi, Hofstra, Farmingdale, and Molloy Universities, as well as the United States Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point. Their goal is to provide a diverse musical experience and foster a love of music and community. Learn more about them at stringtopia.org

The concert will take place at the Great Neck Library, located at 159 Bayview Avenue, Great Neck, on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at 2 p.m. Registration is required. Great Neck cardholders and residents can register online, in person, or via phone. Non-residents are welcome as walk-ins, subject to space availability.
