NYS Motor Vehicle REAL ID Outreach & Application Processing at the Great Neck Library

As of May 7, 2025, the federal government requires a REAL ID-compliant document to board a domestic flight. A REAL ID is a federally compliant DMV-issued driver license, learner permit, or non-driver ID that is required to board a domestic flight (within the U.S.) or enter certain federal buildings, unless you have a valid passport.

If your New York State license or ID does not have a star or a flag on it, then you do not have a REAL ID-compliant document. For more information, please visit dmv.ny.gov/driver-license/enhanced-or-real-id

The NYS DMV's mobile unit will be processing applications for REAL ID at the Great Neck Library, 159 Bayview Avenue, Great Neck, on Sunday, April 26, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. No appointment necessary, first come first served. Be sure to bring proof of identity, proof of NYS residency, and your completed application (MV-44 or ID-44). There is no additional fee for a REAL ID. All normal transaction fees still apply.

Please note that in the event that capacity is reached, any customers who are unable to be seen during the visit will be assisted and encouraged to make a reservation to their local DMV office to complete their transactions.
