Memory Café courtesy of Willing Hearts, Helpful Hands and NC Office for the Aging at GN Library

Event Details
Memory cafés are another way people with memory loss and their loved one are coming together for a light meal or snack, enjoy live entertainment, make new friendships, and support one another. People can relax and just be themselves, knowing that no one judges them. Everyone there is going through almost the same things that you go through every day. A memory café has no real agenda or purpose except to enjoy each other’s company and help you and your care partner stay connected – the focus is on having fun and being together.
During the Memory Café you will:
- Be provided a complimentary Kosher lunch for 1 family caregiver and 1 care recipient.
- Enjoy live music
- Connect to our community and receive resources.
Cafés are open to people who are involved with the care and support of the family member with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. This event is provided by Willing Hearts, Helpful Hands at the Parker Jewish Institute, in conjunction with Nassau County Office for the Aging, and supported by a grant from the New York State Department of Health.
The Memory Cafés will take place at the Great Neck library, 159 Bayview Avenue, Great Neck, on Tuesday, May 5, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. RSVP is required as seats are limited. Please sign up on www.greatnecklibrary.org by April 28th! For more information, please contact Willing Hearts, Helpful Hands at 516-586-1507 or e-mail WHHH@parkerinstitute.org
