The Great Neck Library invites you to a poetry reading presented by the Performance Poets Association on Saturday, June 27, at 1:00 p.m. It will take place at the Main Branch located at 159 Bayview Avenue. The event features guest poets Lorraine Collin and Doreen Deutch Spungin. Attendees are also welcome to sign up for the open mic session during the meetup.

Hallock State Park Preserve

The Atlantic Marine Conservation Society (AMSEAS) and the New York State Parks are partnering to host a community beach walk and clean-up at Hallock State Park Preserve. Join us for a beach walk/clean-up at Hallock State Park Preserve every Saturday from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM. Clean-up supplies will be provided, but it is recommended that you bring your own gloves. Registration is required via Eventbrite so that we may contact you if we need to cancel the event due to the weather. Parking fees will be waived for all registered participants. Jones Beach State Park

The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation is pleased to announce the 2026 FourLeaf Air Show and Fireworks at Jones Beach State Park! 
Festivities will kick off on Saturday, July 4, Independence Day, with a Fireworks Program from 6:00pm to 10:00pm. Following Fireworks will be the FourLeaf Air Show, on Sunday, July 5, and Monday, July 6 at 10:00am to 3:00pm, which will feature the United States Navy Blue Angels as the headliner. Created out of a desire to salute America’s heroes and bring a truly patriotic event to Jones Beach State Park, the FourLeaf Air Show has grown into the premier North American air show for the United States’ Semi-quincentennial (250th) Anniversary! Join us for a weekend we won’t forget! 
There is no general admission ticket needed to attend, just a $10 Vehicle Use Fee onsite.

Interested in an upgraded experience while also supporting recreational programs at state parks? The Jones Beach Chalet is just for you! Whether you’re attending with friends, family, colleagues, or clients, we have the space to suit your needs, and all proceeds will benefit state park programming. This experience takes place right on the sand at Jones Beach, next to the center point of the show. Entry allows guests to enjoy a fully catered Continental Breakfast, Hot and Cold Lunch Buffet, Beverage Service that includes beer, wine and soda, VIP Parking, and the use of Private Restroom facilities conveniently located for Chalet guests. For the July 4th Fireworks Chalet, the food service will be adjusted to include a Hot and Cold Dinner Buffet. Seating in the chalet is shared; however, full tables may be reserved.
Tickets for the 2026 Jones Beach Chalet are available to purchase now at <a href="https://www.fourleafairshow.com/hospitality/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://www.fourleafairshow.com/hospitality/</a>. Tickets are being sold at a discounted rate with an Early Bird Special being offered until May 31, 2026. After May 31, tickets will continue to be available at regular prices. Ticket sales will end July 1st.
The Chalet will be available for the following days:
Saturday, July 4 (Fireworks Program only): 5PM – 10PM
Sunday, July 5 (Air Show): 7AM – 4PM
Monday, July 6 (Air Show): 7AM – 4PM

This program is sponsored by NY Life. Children’s Summer Entertainment offers families several opportunities to enjoy a variety of free, fun and interactive shows/activities at state parks throughout Long Island. A vehicle use fee may be in effect and participants are encouraged to bring their own chairs or blankets. There are no rain dates for these performances. Jake Miller will perform LIVE music at the <a href="https://www.limusichalloffame.org/museum/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Long Island Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame</a> in Stony Brook Village (97 Main Street, Stony Brook, NY) on July 5th from 3-4pm. The event is free with general admission ticket purchase, or $10 at the door concert ticket and free to members.

About JAKE MILLER
Born and raised on Long Island. Grew up in Dix Hills and attended Half Hallow Hills school district while also studying music at Nassau Cultural Arts Center. Enrolled in Five Towns Music College in Seaford for a year before performing with an original rock band, Paradise Alley. Started writing original music in college and then for bands like Paradise Alley and Scarred For Life (Eonian Records @2025). 
Released a 3 song original instrumental demo in 1993 (produced by Chris Risola/Steelheart) and was performing original songs at local venues in the mid 90's. 
Since 2004, Jake has been touring with various Van Halen tribute acts including Bottoms Up, Everybody Wants Some and currently with Completely Unchained. He has toured all across the United States and to Germany, Kuwait and the UAE. 
While keeping his busy schedule, Jake still finds time to write and record original songs as well as guitar session work.
