Great Adventures are in Store for Long Island: L.L.Bean Celebrates Grand Opening of Fifth NY Store at The Smith Haven Mall

Freeport, ME., June 13, 2017 – Internationally recognized outdoor retailer L.L.Bean, best known for its Bean Boot and legendary customer service is pleased to celebrate the grand opening of its fifth store in New York at the Smith Haven Mall, which features over 140 stores and a variety of dining options, located in Long Island’s Suffolk County in Lake Grove, New York. The grand opening celebration will begin on Friday, June 23 and go through Sunday, June 25. Everyone is invited to the three-day event featuring giveaways, a variety of family activities, L.L.Bean’s famous Bootmobile and more.

Grand opening event highlights include:

• Friday: Free L.L.Bean Gift Card worth up to $500 to the first 200 customers to come through the door—store opens at 9:00 a.m.
• Saturday and Sunday: free fly-casting and archery lessons by experts from L.L.Bean’s Outdoor Discovery Schools, games and more—10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
• Saturday and Sunday: enter to win a trip to Maine for a family of four
• Sunday: Kids’ Day--it’s all about the kids with a day of family fun featuring wildlife programs, and hands-on activities and games with local Boy and Girl Scout troops--10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
• In addition, all weekend long, folks can also have their photo taken with L.L.Bean’s famous Bootmobile, a mobile version of L.L.Bean’s first and most iconic product, the L.L.Bean Boot.

The 16,000 square-foot store will feature an assortment of active and casual apparel and footwear, as well as outdoor lifestyle gear including hiking, fly-fishing, kayaking and winter gear and camping products. The store will employ approximately 70 people. This will be L.L.Bean’s fifth store in New York and its 31st retail store outside of Maine.
