Jovia Financial Credit Union and ACLD’s RewearAble Collect More than 640 Pounds of Clothing During Earth Day

Jovia Financial Credit Union, ranked among the nation’s top 100 credit unions and a leading financial institution on Long Island, in partnership with RewearAble, a business initiative of Adults and Children with Learning Disabilities, Inc. (ACLD), successfully concluded a community clothing drive on Earth Day, April 22, collecting more than 640 pounds of clothing to support opportunities for gainful employment for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The month-long initiative, held at Jovia’s corporate headquarters in Westbury, invited employees, members, and the broader community to donate clothing. All donations were collected and loaded onto the RewearAble truck on Earth Day, marking the culmination of the drive.

RewearAble, a business initiative of ACLD, provides employment through the collection, sorting and recycling of donated clothing. RewearAble helps participants develop valuable skills while contributing to environmental sustainability.
