Just a good old fashioned game on a Saturday afternoon

Members of the Hauppauge High School Football team turned Hauppauge Youth Organization's Family Fun and Picture Day into so much more for some of the leagues young players. It was truly a beautiful Saturday afternoon on Long Island. Pizza, snow cones, bounce houses and all American football.. It meant so much to me as I watched as the high school team members united together and turning what started as a simple catch into a coordinated game effort. Parents who were ready to take their leave from the days activities, sat, watched and cheered as this unscheduled football game played out. Watching the high school team members as they truly took the time to teach and play with these elementary school students and future high school stars was a wonderful sight. The smiles on the faces of all sent the message that Hauppauge is united when it comes to sports and neighbors. No referees, no coaches just a good old fashioned game of football on a Saturday in the sun on Long Island.
