LIAACC Works to Advance Suffolk County JUMPSmart Downtown Revitalization Initiative

HAUPPAUGE, N.Y. — The Long Island African American Chamber of Commerce, Inc. (LIAACC) today announced today that there is still time to apply for the JUMPSmart downtown revitalization grant. The initiative aims to provide a delivery grant in the amount of $2500.00 to eligible businesses to stimulate the economy in Suffolk County.

The JUMPSmart program (Jobs, Urbanization, Management, and Partnerships) focuses on transforming traditional downtowns into "smart" hubs through high-speed connectivity, sustainable transit options, and pedestrian-centric development. By integrating the LIAACC into the planning process, the county seeks to stimulate the economy in Suffolk.

As the grant is provided to small business owners in Suffolk County the recipients of these grant funds will see tangible results such as an increase in revenue.

LIAACC President Phil Andrews noted that the initiative comes at a critical time for the region’s economy. "For small business owners JUMPSmart represents a bridge to the future," Andrews said. "We are committed to ensuring that the economic transformation of Suffolk County includes small businesses in Suffolk County.
