Local Students Host Robotics Workshop at Roslyn Bryant Library

On August 16, the Bryant Library in Roslyn hosted a youth robotics workshop featuring students from the C2C VEX Robotics teams (with members from Roslyn and neighboring Long Island schools) and Wheatley High School’s Cyber Cats FRC team.

The teams shared their journeys through FLL, FRC, and VEX competitions, demonstrated their robots in action, and invited kids to try hands-on activities. With the library’s support, the event gave local children an exciting opportunity to explore robotics, creativity, and teamwork.

Among the presenters were Vincent L (Roslyn High School, C2C VEX Robotics Team 62880D), Wilbur W (Roslyn High School, Code Club President), and Brandon J (Wheatley High School, Cyber Cats FRC team 2872). All three began their robotics journey in 3rd grade with FLL Explorer. They shared that robotics taught them how to work effectively with others, overcome setbacks and challenges, and develop strong communication skills to present ideas with confidence.

The event was made possible through the generous support of the Bryant Library, which provided space for the workshop. The organizers expressed gratitude to the library for fostering STEM learning and community engagement.

With enthusiastic participation and positive feedback, the teams look forward to hosting future workshops and sharing the excitement of robotics with even more students across Long Island.
