Nadia Campbell-Mitchell Named Development Director at Hope For Youth

Hope For Youth, a non-profit organization that facilitates positive change in the lives of children, adolescents, and families on Long Island, has named Nadia Campbell-Mitchell to the position of Director of Development.

Mrs. Campbell-Mitchell, who lives in the Town of Babylon, has an extensive background in executive-level nonprofit management and older adult services.

Among her previous positions were as Interim Executive Director of Elders Share the Arts, a Brooklyn-based non-profit promoting arts education among senior citizens. She also managed the home-delivered meals program for Wayside Outreach Development, a Brooklyn-based non-profit that fosters independent living for seniors. Mrs. Campbell-Mitchell also worked in the development office of the North Shore-LIJ Health System Foundation in Great Neck.

“Nadia Campbell-Mitchell has extensive experience in both fundraising and in community-oriented services,” said Dr. David J. Hegarty, executive director and CEO of Hope For Youth. “She’s a great fit for our agency and we are looking forward to having her on our team.”

Mrs. Campbell-Mitchell has been a member of the Long Island chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, was a state-certified Long-Term Care Ombudsman, and is the founder of the Victorian Hands Foundation. She serves on the board of the Cancer Option Collaborative, an Ohio-based non-profit that provides emotional support and financial assistance for cancer patients.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, and Economics from Empire State College, and has received many awards and accolades for her community service work over the years. They include the Mets Champion in the Community Award, the Bank of America Local Hero Award, and the Osborn Elliott Community Leadership Award from the Citizens Committee for New York City.

Mrs. Campbell-Mitchell is also a certified Reiki Master Teacher and is registered with the International Association of Reiki Professionals.
