Roslyn High School Students Advance to VEX V5 Robotics World Championship

Roslyn, NY — Six students from Roslyn High School are heading to the VEX Robotics World Championship after outstanding performances at the 2026 Southern New York State Championship – VEX V5 High School, held at Kennedy Catholic Preparatory School.

Miles Hu (10th grade) led Team 62880A “Tidal” in an alliance with Angela Li (10th grade) of Team 16099A “Overclock” to win the New York South State Championship. Miles’ team also earned the Amaze Award, recognizing their exceptional robot performance and strategic excellence.

Meanwhile, Team 62880D “Disconnected,” led by junior (11th grader) Brian Xiong, includes Eric Xiong (10th grade), Ethan David (11th grade), and Vincent Lin (12th grade). The team also advanced to the world stage after competing with 41 teams at the state championship.

Representing C2C Robotics, both teams demonstrated remarkable teamwork, resilience, and innovation. Their journey included unexpected challenges, proud victories, and emotional highs and lows — truly a mix of tears and laughter.

The students devoted countless hours to designing, building, and programming their robots. Their success also reflects the strong STEM education at Roslyn High School, which prepared them for this demanding and rewarding robotics journey.
