Steve Mason...From Injury to Destiny

Steve Mason story from injury to destiny.

Steve Mason never planned on a successful acting career. As a matter of fact acting was far from this young opera singer, with the amazing bass tone voice, had ever considered. Steve's love for opera and the classics had led him on a path to reach the opera stage. Yet as we know, as the late John Lennon has said, "Life is what happens when we're busy making other plans." An unforeseen accident at the age of twenty left Steve Mason in a coma. Steve Mason's life would change in direction forever.

During the insertion of an airway damage was caused to Steve's vocal cords. This left Steve unable to perform opera as before. Depressed and lying in his hospital bed Steve felt lost with no direction. A friend suggested he take an acting class. Pulling himself together and feeling determined Steve took classes at a local Port Jefferson Theater and soon afterward studied with Michael Howard. Steve remembers his first class freezing when asked to stand, speak his name and explaining why he wanted to be an actor. Funny how his twist with slight stage fright would land him his first acting gig as a non speaking serial killer.

Steve Mason did become an actor and continues to work in the industry to this day. He has worked with such stars as George Clooney, Donnie Wahlberg, 50 Cent and Joshua Jackson, just to name a few. Steve has also shown himself to be an amazing stunt man trading punches with Clooney himself.
