Top 5 Spine Chilling Haunted Houses for the Brave Islander
The beaches are closed and summer has ended but Long Island is still hoppin! Here's the spookiest haunted houses across the island!

This is a fan favorite for the North Shore crowd. An amusement park in the summer, Bayville is a top spot all year round; but during Halloween it goes to another level. The different haunted attractions this year include Bloodworth Haunted Mansion, Haunted Asylum, Uncle Needle’s Fun House of Fear, and more! This haunted house ranks a 4.5/5 on the fear factor scale. It is not recommended for children under the age of 10 but there is no hard age limit. Finally, all funding goes back into the park. This is one of the scariest haunted houses on the North Shore and is definitely a must see if you can handle it.

The second year running, the North Patchogue Fire Department is back at it again with their House of Horrors. With a 5/5 on the fear factor scale this Haunted House is more than spooky, its chilling. Open before and after Halloween, this is a must see. There is no age limit on this House either but it is enter at your own risk anyway. This is a young Haunted House as this is only the second year, but just as spooky. Definitely worth the time if you are up to the spooks.

3. Yaphank Trail of Terror
This Haunted attraction has been scaring islanders since the 90’s and is located on the East end of the island. This attraction has a 4.5/5 on the fear scale. The Trail of Terror is only open a few nights around Halloween but has been rated top for Halloween attractions 5 years in a row. All the proceeds go to the Yaphank Presbyterian Church and is a not for profit event. A different sort of Haunted House as it takes place on and around the church grounds- this attraction is one of the spookiest on the island and one of the best ways for Long Islanders to get in the Halloween spirit.

This south shore attraction takes you back in time to the mid 1600’s and you are set on a journey to find the missing villagers. This attraction is a 5/5 on the fear factor scale and is appropriate for 12 and older but enter at your own risk. This Copiague attraction is a not for profit event and all proceeds go to the YES Community Counseling Center. It is open on and around Halloween for maximum spooks and screams! This is a personal favorite and a must see this Halloween season.

5. Dreams and Nightmares
This haunted attraction is arguable the scariest on the island. Located in the Sands Point Preserve, this attraction is anything but typical. This is a fully immersive experience and is not for the weak or claustrophobic. It takes about an hour to go through the experience and tickets must be bought beforehand. This is one of the more intense experiences with an age limit of 16 and up. Another not for profit the proceeds go to the preserve. This is a frightening haunt, but definitely for the more intense Halloween fans.
