Toss for a Cause: Momentum at South Bay Hosts Cornhole Charity Event to Raise Awareness About Limb Loss

Momentum at South Bay for Rehabilitation and Nursing, Lynbrook Restorative Therapy & Nursing and Excel at Woodbury for Rehabilitation and Nursing’s amputee support group will be hosting a cornhole tournament fundraiser event to support Nicole Grehn, a double amputee and nurse practitioner, and her mission to aid children with limb loss around the world by raising funds to provide them with free prosthetics.

Proceeds from the event and associated Give Butter page will be donated to the Limb Kind Foundation, a global organization committed to helping children with limb loss and toward Grehn’s upcoming mission to Sri Lanka.

“This event is more than just a game – it's a chance for our community to come together in support of an incredible cause. We’re thrilled to host an evening of fun, camaraderie, and generosity, all in the name of helping children with limb loss receive the prosthetics they need to thrive,” said Joe Aplustille, Administrator of Momentum at South Bay.

The cornhole fundraiser will take place on Wednesday, June 25, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at 340 E Main St, East Islip, NY 11730. Tickets are $10 for each participant. Each month, these three facilities host patient assistance programs focused on care and support for people with limb loss, including the only limb loss support group on Long Island. During monthly meetings, their multidisciplinary team of specialists share information, discuss challenges and successes and raise participants’ spirits. The three facilities offer short-term rehabilitation for a variety of conditions including specialty in Limb Loss and post amputation recovery.
