#100 - Check Out Hot Skates

Our first installment in the "100 Things To Do in Lynbrook" is Hot Skates.

As a 47-year resident of Lynbrook, I've spent a great deal of time thinking of different places to go. Asking around to many other village residents, this establishment seemed to be one that everyone I asked also mentioned. It only seemed fitting to start with this longtime Lynbrook landmark.

moved into our village in 1980 as an indoor roller/in-line skating facility. It has a spacious maple wood floor, perfect for smooth skating. They also have a snack bar and game room to feed and entertain you when you need a break. Hot Skates has an array of award-winning multimedia effects, including a state-of-the-art sound system, club/theatrical lighting and a professional-grade video system.

Hot Skates welcomes every kind of skater, from beginners to experienced ones. You can bring your own skates if you like, or rent quads for a small fee. Roller-skating is a lot of fun and also very good exercise. This is a great place to go with the whole family, or take the kids and sit back and enjoy watching them have fun, while you enjoy a snack from the snack bar. On weekends it’s a great place for teens to go, as there are set skating times just for them, with their style of music.
