Kennedy
Football: Kennedy played a home game against Carle Place/Wheatley on Thursday night. Recap will be posted in the next update.

Mepham
Football: Mepham got back on track after dropping its first game of the season last week to Wantagh with a 35-12 win against visiting Herricks. Shane Agostino rushed for a team-high 135 yards on just five attempts, including touchdown runs of 70, 20 and 15 on the day. Kevin Tauriello and Nick Wenthen also added scores. The defense, led by Wenthen and Joe Aliberti, did not allow any points until the fourth quarter as the Pirates advance to 4-1 on the season.

Boys Soccer: Mepham snapped a two-game losing skid with a 3-1 victory at Herricks on Thursday. The second place Pirates, who now stand at 5-3-0 overall in Conference AA-III, were led to the win by Fermin Sorto with two goals, as well as another from Dante Ippolito. Steve Fotinos had an exceptional game in net with eight key saves.
Boys Volleyball: Mepham had a tough time against visiting Bethpage on Thursday, dropping the match in three sets. The Pirates came close to a second set win at 25-23, but ultimately fell to 1-7 on the year in Conference V.
Clarke
Field Hockey: Clarke won once again for its fourth straight victory and third this week alone, the latest being an 8-0 landslide against Wheatley on the road. Jessica Gibaldi and Emma Foster both scored a pair of goals, and Danielle Berk, Kristin Keller, Haley Anderson and Caileigh Berry scored the remaining four to help the Lady Rams advance to an undefeated 6-0-3.
East Meadow
Football: East Meadow remained undefeated after defeating visiting Oceanside, 41-6, on Thursday, thanks largely in part to a solid running game. Robbie Healy led the way with 342 total yards of offense and four touchdowns, including an 81-yard kickoff return for a score, for the Jets. Jame D’Elia and Billy Andrie also contributed touchdowns in the dismantling of the Sailors. The 5-0 Jets' total offensive output on the season is now up to 249 points.
FIVE TOWNSHewlett
Football: Hewlett played in a road game against Lynbrook on Thursday night. Recap will be posted in the next update.
Girls Soccer: Hewlett pulled out a great win at home against a talented Mineola team by a 1-0 final. Sarah Herzberg scored a late goal off of a pass from Val Denapoli to give the Lady Bulldogs the advantage, and Natalie Nidetch recorded another shutout in the goal for Hewlett, which is now 2-3-3 in Conference A-III.
Lawrence
Football: Lawrence topped Plainedge at home in what turned out to be a real shootout. The two teams combined for 96 points, with the Golden Tornadoes coming out with a 56-40 win. Tyler Fredericks led the way with 315 total yards with five touchdowns, giving him nine in the last two games alone. His older brother, Ryan, ran for 135 yards and a touchdown. Even the youngest Frederick brother, Jordan, got in the end zone on a 60-yard pass from quarterback Joey Capobianco. Matt Leone led the defense with seven tackles and two sacks for a 4-1 Lawrence team.
GARDEN CITYFootball: Garden City cruised to another victory with a 38-8 final at home against Elmont. Scott D’Antonio gave the Trojans the lead in the first quarter with the first of his three touchdowns on 196 yards rushing. The team broke out for 24 more points before halftime, including runs of 75 yards from D’Antonio and 47 from Brett Stewart. Garden City, standing at 5-0, looks primed for a Conference II title this season.
Boys Volleyball: The Trojans won the opening set at New Hyde Park by a slim 25-22 score, but were outscored 75-62 the rest of the way to drop the match in four sets. Garden City will welcome Bethpage next Thursday in a night match.
MALVERNEFootball: Malverne struggled mightily on the road against West Hempstead, falling by a score of 42-7 and dropping its record to 1-2. Aaron Hill busted out for a 60-yard run in the second quarter, representing the team's lone score against a tough Ram defense that forced five turnovers on the day.
Boys Soccer: Malverne/East Rockaway dropped a tough road game to West Hempstead by a 2-0 final. The team fought to the end, but a pair of late second half goals did them in. Zach Bordini stopped 12 shots to keep the game close.
MERRICKFootball: Calhoun lost a heartbreaker at New Hyde Park, falling by a 38-34 final. The Colts led 20-7 at the half, but were outscored 21-0 in the third quarter. Matt Brennan almost willed his team to victory, throwing two touchdowns and running for two more. Julian Lee opened the scoring with a three-yard touchdown in the first quarter. Calhoun now stands at 2-3 on the season.
MINEOLAFootball: Mineola was stymied by Cold Spring Harbor on the road by a 34-21 final. Mineola had a tough time stopping the run, giving up 353 yards on the ground in the game. Quarterback Rob Clarkin gave a valiant effort with three touchdown passes, including two in the second half, to lead the Mustangs, who now drop to 1-3 on the young season.
Girls Soccer: Mineola gave a great effort on the road against Hewlett in a league matchup, but a stout Lady Bulldog defense kept the Lady Mustangs scoreless for the full 80 minutes to fall 1-0. Mineola has not won in its last four games, with a tie against Lynbrook in the mix.
LEVITTOWNDivision
Football: Division edged out visiting Sewanhaka with a fourth quarter comeback on Thursday, winning by a 29-20 final score. Joe Vanasco had another busy day with 114 yards on the ground and 36 yards receiving with a rushing touchdown. The big story here lies with wide receiver Joe Maldonado, who caught seven balls for 114 yards and two scores from Dylan Cardno for the Blue Dragons, who now stand tall at 4-1 in Conference IV.
Girls Soccer: The girls soccer team remained perfect on the season at 8-0-0 with a 3-1 win at Wheatley on Thursday. However, the win didn’t come without an exciting and convincing second half comeback, as Wheatley's Rebecca Braito scored the first goal of the game. The Lady Dragons came back with all of their goals in the next half, including one each from Krista Fitzpatrick, Susan Ballantyne and Maggie Carew.
Island Trees
Football: Island Trees battled tough on the road against Valley Stream North, but fell by a final score of 48-27. Despite two touchdowns passes and a touchdown on the ground from Kyle Nigro, the big issue for the Bulldogs was running back Evan Henry, who scored four times on 243 yards. Chris Pascalli scored a late touchdown for the Island Trees, as it falls to 1-4 on the season.
Girls Soccer: The Lady Dawgs are already one of the top teams in the state, and they only continue to get better. The girls defeated Bethpage on the road by a 2-1 score. Kristen Breihof and teammate Allison Merrill found the back of the net for Island Trees to secure the win. Island Trees is now 9-1-0 and remains in first place in Conference A-II.
MacArthur
Girls Soccer: The Lady Generals avenged a loss to Farmingdale with a dominating 5-0 win at Baldwin. Leading by a slim one goal lead at the half, MacArthur poured it on in the second half to put the game out of reach. Jill Mullhulland and Arianna Montefusco both found the net twice and Mullhulland added two assists as well in the route. Tara Lyons scored a goal for the team as well. MacArthur is now 6-2-0 in Conference AA-II.
LONG BEACHBoys Soccer: Elmont has been one of the hotter teams in the conference, but Long Beach has found its own stride as of late. The two teams tied 2-2 at Elmont on Thursday, with Andrew Judge tying the score with just more than 10 minutes remaining in the game. Emmanuel Flory found the back of the net in the first half for Long Beach, which is now 2-5-1 in Conference AA-III.
Boys Volleyball: Long Beach competed in a non-league match out in Suffolk County against Half Hollow Hills, who won the Class AA Long Island title in 2010. The Marines lost the match 3-0 to fall to an overall record of 5-3. Adam Lazara and Andrew Still led the way in the effort.
Boys Badminton: Long Beach cruised by Calhoun on the road by a 6-1 score. Solid play was displayed by Matt Rizzo, Andrew Schnier and Brandon Levokove to help the Marines advance to a solid 6-1 record on the year.

ROCKVILLE CENTREFootball: South Side traveled to Bethpage for a night game on Thursday. Recap will be posted in the next update.
SEAFORDFootball: Seaford played a home game against East Rockaway on Thursday night. Recap will be posted in the next update.
WANTAGHFootball: Wantagh and Carey went right down to the wire, with the Warriors pulling out a close 17-16 win in overtime. Carey went up in the third, but Joe Giardina tied the score at 7-7 with a 27-yard touchdown run. Both teams kicked field goals in the first OT, and Wantagh trailed again after a Seahawks touchdown, but Gerard Roche made the play of the day, blocking the ensuing extra point attempt. Nick Mullen threw a 15-yard strike to Matt Balzano, followed by a successful extra point, giving their team the win and a 4-1 record overall.
Girls Soccer: Wantagh defeated West Hempstead by a 2-0 score on Thursday afternoon. Stefanie Wenz scored her first goal of the season and Brenna Connolly put in her fifth to aid in the win. Brenna Smith had five saves in the shutout for the Lady Warriors, who are now 5-1-2 in Conference A-II.
Football: West Hempstead put up touchdown after touchdown, six to be exact, against visiting Malverne to win by a convincing 42-7 score. Michael Petrizzo led the offense with two touchdowns. Justin Boatwright scored on offense before taking in a defensive touchdown off of one of the Rams’ four interceptions. Danny Njoku was a force on the line with three sacks to help West Hempstead advance to 5-0 in Conference IV.
Boys Soccer: The Rams put on a performance at home, winning by a 2-0 score on Thursday afternoon. Kevin Macario and Kareem Harris both put in goals beyond the midway point of the second half. West Hempstead now stands at a solid 6-1-0 in Conference A-VI.
