Girls Soccer: Kennedy recorded its second 2-0 win this week and third straight shutout win with a home victory over Syosset. Alison Jones and Marley Gerber scored goals for the Lady Cougars who improved to 4-1-1.
Girls Volleyball: The Lady Cougars fell in four sets to Wantagh on the road in what was a rematch of the 2010 Nassau County Class A finals. Kennedy falls to 4-2 on the year.

Boys Badminton: The Cougars dominated visiting Great Neck North by way of a clean 7-0 sweep to advance to 3-1 on the season.
Mepham
Boys Soccer: The Pirates topped Long Beach at home led by Harly Hosty with a goal and an assist. Mepham improves to 4-1-0 and is atop the conference with Elmont, whom they lost to 3-1 earlier in the month.
Girls Volleyball: Mepham fought to the end at Lawrence, but eventually fell in five sets. The Lady Pirates led 13-2 in the fifth set, but lost the exciting match to drop to 4-3 on the season.
Boys Badminton: Mepham edged out Calhoun at home by a 4-3 score led by Brandon Lazarus with the decisive win.
EAST MEADOWClarke
Girls Soccer: Clarke remains undefeated in its conference after a 3-1 home win over West Hempstead on Tuesday. Sam Goodwin had a goal and an assist for the Lady Rams and Hope Quinonez assisted on the other two goals.
Girls Volleyball: Clarke battled to the end with visiting Syosset, but fell in the fifth and final set on Tuesday. After falling two sets behind, the Lady Rams won the next two, including a 25-9 score in the third, but eventually lost the final set by six points.
Field Hockey: Clarke dominated a visiting Great Neck North team on Tuesday, 7-0. It was their most convincing output so far this season as the Lady Rams remain undefeated with three wins and three ties to their credit.
East Meadow
Boys Soccer: After defeating MacArthur at home on Monday, East Meadow followed up with a win by way of a last-minute goal from Joe Martinico to defeat Valley Stream Central 1-0. The Jets are now 3-2-2 this season.
Girls Volleyball: East Meadow swept aside Carle Place on the road on Tuesday. Becky Syers, Jennifer Gundrum, Taylor Conti and Kerry Shaprio combined for a total of 27 kills in the three-set victory.
Girls Tennis: The Lady Jets lost on the road to Glen Cove in a conference match up. East Meadow is now 3-2 on the year.
FIVE TOWNSHewlett
Boys Soccer: The Bulldogs defeated Sewanhaka by a 2-1 score. Kevin Larious and Luis Campos each scored for the Bulldogs. Hewlett moves to 4-1-0 and 5-2-0 overall in Conference A-II.
Girls Soccer: Less than a week after their second overall win of the season, the Lady Bulldogs finished tied visiting Jericho in a scoreless game to move to 2-2-2. Sarah Herzberg and Nathalie Nidetch combined for the 10-save shutout.
Girls Volleyball: Hewlett remains very much in the hunt for a playoff berth despite dropping a four-setter to Calhoun on Tuesday. The Lady Bulldogs are 4-3 and in fifth place in the conference.
Lawrence
Boys Soccer: Lawrence found the win column for the first time in conference games this season with a 5-1 victory over visiting Bethpage. Edgar Quintanilla scored a hat trick, while his brother Carlos collected four assists in the dominating win.
Girls Soccer: Lawrence fell behind Malverne/East Rockaway on Tuesday, and despite scoring a late goal, fell by a 2-1 score. The Golden Tornadoes fall to 2-2-1 on the season.
Girls Volleyball: What a thriller it was in the Lawrence gym on Tuesday, as the 7-0 Golden Tornadoes defeated visiting Mepham in five sets. Natalie Leger and Michelle Vainblat were dominant on offense with a combined 34 kills and 14 aces, while Alex Tse dished out 47 assists in the win.
Girls Tennis: Lawrence fell just short at home against Long Beach in a 4-3 decision. The girls gave a good effort, but are still in search of their first victory this fall.
GARDEN CITYBoys Soccer: Although New Hyde Park had just one win on the season, they managed a 2-2 tie against Garden City, who is now 5-1-1 on the season. The tie breaks a two-game winning streak for the Trojans in the last week.
Girls Volleyball: Garden City could not handle visiting Herricks on Tuesday, as the girls fell in straight sets to drop to 4-3 overall and an even 3-3 in Conference A-I.
Field Hockey: The Lady Trojans pulled away in the second half on the road against Locust Valley to win 4-0. Alexandra Bruno, who was an All-State player in 2010, led the way with a goal and an assist.
Girls Tennis: Garden City traveled to Jericho on Tuesday, but fell by a score of 5-2. The Lady Trojans are now 1-6 on the season.
LEVITTOWNDivision
Boys Soccer: Division defeated Plainedge at home 2-0 on Monday to improve their first place record to 5-1-1. John Anderson scored the game-winning goal in the 31st minute and Shane McLaughlin added a second late in the next half.
Boys Volleyball: Division dropped a road match to Hicksville in four sets. The team won the third set to stay alive, but could not top its undefeated opponent.
Girls Volleyball: Division fell at home to Bethpage in three sets on Tuesday. The team falls to 1-7 in Conference A-II this season.
Island Trees
Girls Soccer: Island Trees claimed a 3-1 victory at home over Valley Stream North behind two big goals from Allison Merrill and one from Alexa Drogos. The Lady Dawgs are 6-1-0 overall and in first place in their conference.
MacArthur
Boys Soccer: The Generals played tough on the road against Plainview JFK, but fell in the final 10 minutes to the Hawks. The team is looking to turn its week around, just a day removed from dropping a 3-0 game to East Meadow.
Boys Soccer: Long Beach is still looking to find its winning ways after dropping a fifth straight game Monday, this time a 2-0 loss to Mepham on the road. They stand at 1-5-0 on the season.
Girls Soccer: The Lady Marines led at halftime by a goal, but gave up two in the second half to lose 2-1 on the road. Long Beach falls to 3-3-0 on the season.
Girls Volleyball: Long Beach had a tough time in their home match against a powerful South Side team. The girls fell 3-0 as they try to make a run to another county final, but this time in a tougher, new conference.
Girls Tennis: Long Beach defeated Lawrence on the road on Tuesday. Madison Landau and Rebecca Spodick dominated in their doubles spot to lead the Lady Marines.
LYNBROOKGirls Soccer: Lynbrook tied visiting Roslyn on Tuesday with a 2-2 final score. Patricia Loonie and Carrie Feltkamp each collected a goal in the effort. Loonie now has three combined goals in the last two games for the Lady Owls.
Girls Volleyball: Lynbrook has been the surprise team in girls volleyball this season under new head coach Vanessa Jeremenko. The Lady Owls are now 8-0 after a four set victory at Great Neck South on Tuesday and now hold a three-game lead in the conference. Kasey Keller had 10 kills and nine blocks, followed by Sydney Sullivan with nine kills.
Girls Tennis: Lynbrook visited Carey on Tuesday afternoon and edged out a close 4-3 win. Jenna Kaminski and Joey Benami earned the decisive fourth point in their doubles match.
MALVERNEBoys Soccer: Malverne/East Rockaway was shut out by Floral Park on the road in a Conference VI match up by a 4-0 score.
Girls Soccer: Malverne/East Rockaway edged visiting Lawrence on Tuesday, led by a goal and an assist from Kara Camerada. Lawrence made a late charge with a goal, but goalkeeper Kerri Vulpis was able to finish with seven saves in the win.
Girls Tennis: Malverne/East Rockaway claimed a win on the road against Hempstead by a 4-3 score. Diana Sharkey earned the fourth point in singles in a three-set match.
Girls Volleyball: The Lady Colts have moved to 5-2 overall on the season after defeating Hewlett at home, 3-1. Jess Ruggiero and Kelly Gallo combined for 17 kills in the winning effort.
Boys Badminton: Calhoun dropped a close match to rival Mepham on Monday, 4-3. The Colts drop to a 1-3 record on the season.
Girls Tennis: The Lady Colts were outmatched by visiting Plainedge in a tough 6-1 loss on Tuesday afternoon.
MINEOLABoys Soccer: The Mustangs youngest player on the roster, freshman Daniel Pardo, scored three goals and an assist to lead his team in a 4-0 win over Roosevelt. It is Mineola’s fifth shutout win this season.
ROCKVILLE CENTREBoys Soccer: South Side dropped a tough 3-2 game at Jericho on Tuesday. The score remained knotted at 2-2 until Zach Cohen scored the game winner with less than 10 minutes left in regulation.
Girls Volleyball: South Side swept Long Beach on the road in convincing fashion. Grace Healey and Lauren Byrne led the offense with 10 kills and 17 assists, respectively. The Lady Cyclones move to 5-2 overall this season.
Girls Tennis: The Lady Cyclones hung tough with undefeated conference leader Wheatley, but eventually fell 5-2 on the day.
SEAFORDField Hockey: The Lady Vikings opened their game against Floral Park with an early goal from Kara Murphy to win 1-0. Goalkeeper Diana Rice recorded her first shutout of the season with 10 stops.
WANTAGHBoys Soccer: The Warriors couldn’t find the back of the net against Roslyn on the road in a tough 2-0 loss. The Warriors drop to 2-4-1 overall this season and stand in fourth place in their conference.
Girls Soccer: After Manhasset led 1-0 at halftime, Wantagh tallied four goals in the second half to win 4-2 on the road. Nikki Sliwak, just an eighth grader, scored the eventual game winner with 20 minutes remaining. Brenna Connolly scored twice and Katherine Sneddon scored once. The Lady Warriors improve to 2-1-2 on the season.
Girls Volleyball: Wantagh has not missed a step since its Long Island title last year. The Lady Warriors defeated Kennedy in four sets on Tuesday, led by Carley Simeone with 28 assists and Lauren Pennino with a team-high 10 kills. Wantagh is a perfect 5-0 this season.
WEST HEMPSTEADGirls Soccer: West Hempstead fell behind early on the road to Clarke and could not mount a comeback as the Lady Rams fell by a 3-1 score. Despite the loss, the girls have found some success this season, as they now stand with a 3-2-1 overall record.
