Nassau County Police Department (NCPD) Foundation Announces $65,000 Equipment Donation to Auxiliary Police and Advanced Medical Technicians

Mineola, NY-  In support of the Nassau County Auxiliary Police and Advanced Medical Technicians (AMT's), the NCPD Foundation raised $65,000 to purchase 600 high-visibility raincoats, hat covers and safety vests.

This purchase represents the first gift of brand new equipment the Nassau County Auxiliary Police, a group comprised of volunteers who dedicate their spare time to helping keep our neighborhoods safe, has ever received.

"On behalf of the members of the NCPD Advanced Medical Technicians and Auxiliary Police force we are very grateful for the generosity and support of the NCPD Foundation," said Police Commissioner Thomas Dale. "It was critical that we obtained these new OSHA regulated items.  Due to budgetary constraints we needed the support of the foundation to ensure that we would be able to provide our members with this important equipment."

"When we heard there was a need for this equipment we were more than happy to raise the funds necessary to ensure these items were purchased," said Eric Blumencranz, Chairman of the NCPD Foundation. "We greatly appreciate the work these individuals do on behalf of the county to keep its residents safe. This was our opportunity to ensure that those protecting us have the best available equipment."

The NCPD Foundation embarked on this equipment fundraising campaign in July 2012 and by December had raised the $65,000 necessary to purchase these items.
