Queens Men Charged in Assault, Attempted Robbery of Delivery Man in Malverne
The men were about to rob another delivery man Wednesday night when an alert police officer intervened, police say.

MALVERNE, NY - Two Queens men were arrested on Wednesday for the assault and attemped robbery a Chinese food delivery man in Malverne last week, according to Nassau County Police.
On Wednesday, Jan. 27, at 10:05 p.m., a Malverne Police officer, while on patrol, observed a suspicious car parked on Coolidge Street; an area near the robbery.

The car was occupied by 20-year-old Devon Williams, and 24-year-old Ramone Bartley, police said.
Police conducted an investigation at the scene, during which time a Chinese food delivery person happened upon the block, police said.

It was determined that the food order was again deceptively ordered and the two men were going to once again commit another robbery, according to police.
Both men were placed under arrest at the scene without further incident.
Williams is charged with first degree robbery, second degree robbery, second degree attempted robbery and second degree menacing, according to police.
Bartley is charged with first degree robbery, second degree robbery, second degree attempted robbery, fifth degree criminal possession of stolen property (stolen vehicle license plates) and fifth degree criminal possession of marijuana (found inside the car), according to police.
Both will be arraigned on Friday.

MALVERNE, NY - A Chinese food delivery man was hospitalized after he was assaulted and robbed in Malverne on Tuesday night, according to Nassau County Police.
The 36-year-old man, working for China Dragon Kitchen, drove to a Webster Street address to make a delivery at about 9:45 p.m.
He was approached by a man, described as heavy set and about 5-foot-10, when he got out of the car, police said.
The man hit the delivery man in the head with a wooden object before taking his wallet with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.
The delivery man suffered a head laceration and was transported to a local hospital for treatment to his injuries, according to police.
An investigation revealed a second suspect, described as about 5-foot-10 with a thin build wearing glasses was also at the scene, according to police.
Both suspects fled the scene on foot southbound on Cornwell Avenue.
