• Saugerties Village Board backs Riverkeeper grant application for Lower Esopus study (dailyfreeman.com) — Marbletown's town beach was previously closed after animal waste contamination near Ashokan Reservoir releases, and a new Riverkeeper-led study aims to pinpoint and reduce such pollution along the Lower Esopus. The grant-backed project, endorsed by Saugerties officials, would examine septic, farm runoff, and stormwater issues in Marbletown and neighboring towns to guide future fixes and funding.
