11-Year-Old Nassau Boy Seriously Injured In Hit-And-Run

Police said they are searching for a woman driving a red pickup truck after she hit a boy on a scooter and drove off.

MASSAPEQUA, NY — An 11-year-old boy was seriously injured in a hit-and-run in Massapequa Sunday afternoon, and police are seeking the public's help to find the person responsible.

According to police, the boy was riding his scooter at 3:30 p.m. on Eastgate Road when he was hit by a woman driving a red, older model, two-door pickup truck. The woman drove away north on Eastgate Road.

The boy suffered serious injuries and was rushed to a local hospital, where he was in stable condition.

Police asked anyone with information on the crash to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS or the Seventh Squad at 516-573-6753. All callers will remain anonymous, and you could receive a cash reward if your information leads to an arrest.
