Its a topic that invariably pops up. What will history say?

I’ve often wondered about its relevance, but today another issue arose.

Could it? Would it? Just possibly will the era we share be recorded not as a time of change, but the age of revenge?

I have to wonder about the morality of denying anyone the ability to share their god given genius with others because of ambiguous accusations.

His voice fills my heart with joyful memories of time long gone.

It invokes the memory of the Cathedral where I learned to pray.

I cannot relinquish his place in my life.

Placido Domingo has been part of my musical repertoire since I first heard his melodic voice.

His sound fills my world (often empty) with solace, inspiration and memories when I meditate nightly.

Now I learn his voice may be stilled because some have asserted he was not a perfect man.

Should we all abandon the joy God has given us with this man’s music?

Who cannot look back even timidly on our yesteryears, and say, “No, not I. I was always impeccable in my words, my deeds and even my opinions.

Yet some are willing and yes, eager to deny others the opportunity of contributing their talent to a world hungry for beauty.

God allowed Domingo’s 78 year old voice to endure, but now accusations have stilled it.

In the years of grieving after finding myself alone, one of my sons introduced me to the world of Netflix and I devoured House of Cards.

It was akin to a long standing relationship with a magic carpet, and for hours I forgot my sorrow. The leading actor contributed with his talent to my brief exodus from the loss of love.

His talent is and was undeniable. Was he the epitome of morality? Who can judge. If he is a criminal punish him, but don’t deny others the privilege of enjoying his immense ability.

It makes me wonder if Wm Shakespeare was politically correct or the essence of morality.

Or if DeVinci ever offended anyone of either sex. If he did, should we clear out the museums?

Today a young foreign politician is being condemned because of a costume. Hasn’t this reached the point of absurdity?

In the magical land of make belief so many of us shared for decades did any actor portraying Ali Baba wear a business suit? The costumes enhanced our magic carpet of imagination.

If crimes are committed, yes prosecute, and if sentences are given, then let them be served.

But meanwhile let’s stop unknown accusers or politically motivated investigators from seeking revenge.

Our troubled world needs artistry.
