Aquarian Age

My beloved grandfather's Earth birthday was smack in the heart of the astrological zodiac sign of Aquarius on the twelfth of February, and like many aquarians, he was a visionary and luminary.

Blessed with many gifts and talents, exemplified as a musical prodigy, an aficionado on any topic, and a super smart mathematician even the newfangled kind taught four decades later that made adult's heads spin, he remained a humble gentleman.

Falling a semester short of graduating from pharmacology school due to an unforeseen interruption dramatically altered his life course.

He was not bitter, ever.

He simply focused on another of his abundant skills and passions, fully understanding that there are no setbacks only unimagined opportunities.

Being an air sign, enables Aquarians to excel with their supreme intellect and superlative creativity surpassing the ordinary and idealizing a vastly progressive answer hinged on humanity's upliftment with unparalleled innovations.

They are the revolutionaries and rebels that altruistically propel mankind forward.

Grandpa Pasquale was all of this and more.

His humanitarianism began as a child for his younger sister, Ida, when he fearlessly jumped in harm's way to avoid what would have certainly been her demise.

He magnanimously and copiously contributed to my expensive college tuition, helped anyone in need, and funded a swimming pool in the backyard for his begging grandchildren.

Countless relatives resided with him long term at one time or another, and my mother, my siblings, and I dwelled in his home making it as my mom voiced, "A house throughout the generations."

This same mesmerizing elevating energy is present in the Aquarian Age.

Even though it is staunchly debated, most authorities agree that we are within or quickly approaching the Age of Aquarius with its optimistically perceived melodic era phasing out the harshness, greed, corruption, authoritarianism, and the achingly primal "me first" attitude of the Piscean Age, and heralding forth the highly anticipated wave of peace, love, brotherhood, and egalitarianism.

Alas, this paradigm shift does not occur instantaneously.

As with any seismic transformation, it occurs in rigorous delineated stages.

The groundbreaking upheaval is incited, prolonged, and unsustainable with preconditioned chaos, suffering, and uncertainty, instigated by the suppressed masses questioning the old unworkable institutions and mindsets enforced by the wealthy authoritative minority who vehemently resist any threats to their status quo.

We can witness the crumbling dissolution of all sectors – social, political, educational, economic, and equitable, because they were erected on a faulty foundation that did not serve all people.

Although it feels like we are presently in a pressure cooker, weathering an impassable treacherous storm, it is a reckoning period with the higher energies infiltrating dense dark space, which will eventually illuminate individual rights, freedoms, and inclusivity ensuring everyone’s highest good.

The rocky transition will be well worth the prerequisite bedlam, eliminating desperate illusions of the past such as separation and scarcity, and seeking meaning externally through the old lens of conformity will be replaced with intuition and self-inspired creativity.

We will be united in a higher consciousness enlivened by communication, collaboration, and critical thinking.

While the renaissance of the Middle Ages catapulted civilization into the modern age, this metamorphic paragon will reveal our true selves. Let us embrace this next generation of mankind. And... Happy Birthday Grandpa! I love you.
