Baldwin Immortalized on Walk of Fame
Massapequa-born actor gets star on Hollywood Boulevard.
He's gone from Merrick Road to Hollywood Boulevard.
Massapequa native Alec Baldwin was honored this week with a star on the Hollywood's world famous Walk of Fame.
Baldwin, who is the son of a long time high school teacher, grew up in Massapequa as one of six children. His three brothers, Daniel, William and Stephen are also actors.

He received the 2,433th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Monday in front of an international crowd that numbered in the hundreds—packing the sidewalk along Hollywood Boulevard.
Currently, Baldwin is best known for his multi-award winning role as network executive Jack Donaghy on 30 Rock, which will celebrate its 100th episode later this spring.

Actress and TV personality Megan Mullally (Will and Grace, Party Down) introduced Baldwin, joking that she had secured the speaking arrangement when he accidently mistook her for one of his costars outside of a bar.
“He said, ‘Tina Fey, I want you to speak at my Walk of Fame ceremony,’” said Mullally, which got the crowd laughing. “And I said, “Alec, of course I will be there.’ Then I handed him my keys and he finished valeting my car.”
Mullally’s introduction included plenty of laughs and friendly jokes at Baldwin’s expense, but one of the biggest laughs came when she mentioned Alec’s brothers, “Sean, Damon and Keenan Ivory,” a clever reference to another famous set of acting brothers, the Wayans.
Mullally reminded the crowd that, other than actor Christopher Walken, Baldwin is the only person with an open invitation to guest host Saturday Night Live.
“He also, alongside my husband,” Mullally joked, “he’s the only actor with a standing invitation to star in my upcoming sex tape.”
But as she ended her introduction, Mullally got more serious about her admiration for Baldwin.
“He’s an amazing actor, a better father…and someone I am so blessed to call my friend," she said.
When Baldwin stepped up to the podium about noon, he thanked the City of Los Angeles, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, NBC executives, his agent and his daughter, Ireland, who could not be in attendance because she was in school.
Most of all, Baldwin wanted to thank the cast and crew of 30 Rock.
“This has honestly been one of the best experiences I’ve had, and I’m thankful for this recognition. It’s been a great five year; I’ve really enjoyed it.”
Although Alec’s brother Billy was expected to speak, he was not at the event. In Billy’s place, another acting brother, Stephen, came to take photos of his older brother unveiling his star. There were several other famous faces in the audience, including actress Anne Heche, Mullally’s husband and Parks and Recreation star Nick Offerman and Baldwin’s 30 Rock costar Jack McBrayer.
Along with his starring role on 30 Rock, Baldwin has worked in stage productions—including receiving Tony and Emmy nominations for his performance in A Streetcar Named Desire—and appeared in more than 40 films, including The Hunt for Red October, The Departed and It’s Complicated. He’s also done voiceover work on the animated children’s series Thomas the Train Engine.
