Drug Dealer Linked To Fatal Overdose Arrested In Sting: Nassau PD

Police say the investigation of a fatal overdose led them to the dealer who sold the drugs.

A Wyandanch man was arrested on Tuesday after police say an investigation into a fatal overdose led officers to him.

According to police, Narcotics/Vice Squad detectives were investigating the fatal overdose of a 48-year-old Albertson man and discovered that the man had purchased drugs from Michael Holmes, 31, of Parkway Boulevard, Wyandanch.

Police say that detectives set up a meeting with Holmes in Massapequa to purchase heroin. When Holmes arrived at the location, he was placed under arrest. Police say the officers recovered a bag of heroin from Holmes' pants.

Holmes is charged with third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday in First District Court in Hempstead.
