Drug Take-Back In Massapequa On Saturday

Anyone can drop off unused prescription medication to have it safely disposed of.

MASSAPEQUA, NY — The Massapequa Takes Action Coalition is holding a drug take-back day this weekend, giving people a chance to safely dispose of their unused prescription drugs.

The drug take-back will be held on Oct. 24 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the east parking lot of the district offices at Massapequa High School, at 4925 Merrick Road.

  • Keep the prescriptions in their original containers.
  • Black-out any identifying information for anonymity.
  • Keep medication information visible.

No syringes or sharps will be accepted. Liquids, thermometers, IV bags and chemotherapy drugs will also not be accepted.

If you can't make it to the drug take-back on Saturday, all Nassau County Police Department precincts have bins where medications can be safely disposed of any day.
