A chilly night, open fields, silence except for the donkey’s gait and labored breath, a lone star lighting the way, few inns, three kings, and the impending birth of our Messiah. Fast forward to 2020: over seven and a half billion people, unrelenting noise, despair, over-crowded cities, unbalanced scales of abundance and scarcity glaring disparagingly, hate, and intolerance oscillate like a powerful vortex inhaling and ingesting until the subjects are captured and numb.

Yet, these charitable traits are not readily visible, some may be buried beneath a rash of unsavory feelings and grudges, where they never witness light, or feel warmth. Set in a void, they fester - isolated, but reactive. Such harmful debris needs to be kept in check, and removed. Let this Christmas season be the moment to expunge the unnecessary, unwarranted, and undermined, and replace with understanding and love. Let us whole-heartedly seek the star, faithfully follow it, and adore Jesus. Behold. Believe. Become.
~ “… For we saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him,” Matthew 2:2 ~
