How Massapequa Moms, Dads and kids can spend their time over the remaining days of Spring break.

It is Spring break and schools are closed. For many Moms and Dads who have had some time off with their kids, the question looms – what to do?
Let’s face it – the weather has not been great yet spring fever is hitting hard all the same. For Massapequa parents who are hearing their kids moan – “I’m bored” there is relief! There are things to do to fill the remaining days of spring break. Here are some mini day-cations that just may fit the bill beautifully.
is just one of your resources coming to the rescue. To help keep the kids busy while school’s out, they’re offering a Movie Special. They invite you to join them each morning from 10 a.m. until noon to bowl, watch a movie, and enjoy a pizza lunch.

On Thursday, April 21, Gulliver’s Travels will be showing and on Friday, April 22, The Chronicles of Narnia – Voyage of the Dawn Treader will be shown.
The cost is $10 per person. (And if you’re thinking ahead to summer activities, you may want to register early for the Massapequa Bowl’s Summer Fun program – Two free games of bowling a day all summer. Another viable option to keep the kids active and entertained is at the nearby Oyster Bay town parks, which span more than 800 acres. The parks offer something for everyone and facilities include children's playgrounds, pools, ball fields, skating rinks, and basketball fields. Hours are Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Parking is free. For information, call 516-797-4120.
United Skates of America Roller Skating Center located at nearby stars 1276 Hicksville Road in Seaford is also open this week while the kids are off. Hours are 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. $9 for kids, $10 for skating adults. For more info, call (516) 795-5473.

For parents and kids looking to break into a Fun Zone this Spring break, nearby Fun Zone Amusements at 229 Broad Hollow Road in Farmingdale has some great propositions.
It’s open daily Monday - Thursday from noon ‘til 9 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays until 10 p.m., and Sundays until 9 p.m. Fun Zone is a popular Long Island indoor-outdoor amusement center and offers a ton of popular arcade games as well as bumper cars, train rides, Disco Star, a carousel, laser tag and a challenging Rock Wall to climb. Another activity to keep your kids busy this Spring break is the Teen/Tween program at the Massapequa Library. It’s being offered at the location on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. On tap is the Eclipse Teen Movie Lunch and Craft with Alice Azoulay. Participants can catch the film and make a craft project. It’s yet another great way to spend the afternoon during spring break! Pizza will be served and there’s a $4 materials fee.
