Heartfelt

In an imperfect world filled with blaring inequalities and dissident overtones, being thankful can seem inconceivable.

Challenging emotions can arise, swiftly squashing contentment and if not harnessed and regrouped could lead to depression, anxiety disorders, and aggression.

In lieu of these uncomfortable feelings one may opt for a little apathy in an attempt to vanquish the dissonance and despondency.

Being engulfed in drama and obstacles alters the focal point from God to the self, who always has an agenda and is never totally pleased or satisfied.

Sometimes numbing our woes internally by ignoring or suppressing them or externally with food, alcohol, drugs, or meaningless activities to quell the uneasiness, establishes unquenchable patterns that drive one in the wrong direction with flawed pretenses.

Oxford's defines apostasy as abandonment or renunciation of a religious or political belief.

This desertion of the imperative of giving thanks to God may not be overt, as it usually creeps in slowly and insidiously creating a fomenting niche.

It patiently awaits your detection, distorted clarification, and approval.

All the while slyly twitching with a vein of truth but upon closer scrutiny does not withstand fictitious and elaborately embellished claims and is usually alluding that you deserve more and can acquire it by any means, essentially you anoint yourself as the Godhead.

When the Lord is displaced as the central focus of our life and beingness, not to mention as the single Supreme animator and director of the universe, things go awry quickly.

The longer we delude ourselves with these faithless fabrications, the more onerous the ascent back to reality and wellness.

Be careful to avoid this subversive position lest a huge cataclysmic event befall you, upending your manmade self-serving beliefs, to reorganize the Almighty's authority and statutes.

Thanksgiving is the perfect time to find our way back to the Lord, who loves and sustains All That Is daily and for generations to come.

Don't delay.

Demonstrate your gratitude for the many blessings God has bestowed upon you.

Accentuate the Lord in your home, speech, demeanor, and each encounter and achievement.

Thanksgiving Day comes once a year, but gratitude is always accessible and ever-present but alas is not consistently embraced or appreciated.

Eject indifference and detachment like Jesus instructed in Luke 9:5, "Shake off the dust from your feet."

The dismissal of egoic falsehoods and self-grandiosity will realign your perspective as a grateful ever-dependent child of God, fostering humble expressions of appreciation for all that you have received from the Holy One.

Celebrate for the Lord is GOOD and give thanks always.

May your heart exude the joy that emanates from gratitude and light the way for others.

Happy Thanksgiving!

~ "Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will God in Christ Jesus for you," 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18.
