Heated Moments as Power Restoration Nears End
Angry resident allegedly threatens LIPA workers with gun.
A frustrated Massapequa resident still without power allegedly tried to take matters into his own hands and threatened LIPA workers with a gun Friday, the workers said.
The utility was fixing a downed wire at the intersection of Cabot Rd. and Pequa Pl. at around 3 p.m. when they were confronted.
The LIPA workers said that a man who they described as a homeowner from the area threatened them with the weapon.

They described the man as "overzealous" and despite calling it "a credible threat," the workers said they asked police not to press charges.
A Nassau County police spokeswoman said the incident was investigated, but no charges had been brought.

The workers said they expected to restore power to the neighborhood by Friday night.
In Massapequa Park, Mayor James Altadonna said there were still two areas without light in Massapequa Park. Jefferson Street between Clark Blvd and Front Street in Massapequa Park was still out, as were homes on Pacific Street.
School officials said power was restored to Massapequa High School on Thursday night and that the school will be ready to open on Tuesday.
