I’m Tired

Aren't You?

(Cultura RM/Jason Butcher)

I’m tired.

I promised myself not to stay awake waiting for the votes to be tabulated, and

I didn’t.

I went to bed but then I must confess I awoke three times before dawn and asked Alexa, “What is happening in the election?”

And today I’m tired. At the moment, there appears to be an answer, but there also remains a remote possibility that could change before midnight.

So, my avid interest is rapidly waning, because I’m tired of multi colored maps and flashing numbers on my TV screen

I’m tired of white haired spokesmen and blonde women advocating for their candidates, both winners and losers

I’m tired of hearing about recounts and court challenges.

I’m tired of campaigns and propaganda. I’m weary of listening to the ifs, ands and buts about what went wrong in all the predictions

I hope pollsters are a thing of the past in America. They’re wrong and boring, and enough, enough of their “Day After” excuses.

Tomorrow is another day. Perhaps America will wake up and demand if and when there is another election, it is handled better.

It is 2020, we are digitally capable. Why oh why are we still using paper ballots? Anywhere?

There was ample time by both powerful candidates to make better preparations. This election shrieks of inefficiency and is a world wide embarrassment.

It would have been acceptable in the Stone Age. not at a time when we landed on the Moon.

Yes, I’m tired, but I believe you are too.

Lets agree not only to congratulate but also, ask God to bless the winner.

But now I’m going back to bed.
