I Wish It Could

Be Heard

I don’t care where you stand politically.

It doesn’t matter to me which side of the aisle you sit on.

I don’t believe it matters what religious holiday you observe

Nor am I interested in your sexual persuasion or color of your skin

HOWEVER, I am appalled and yes horrified, at a sentiment I read today wishing another human being “A miserable little Christmas.”

I have pondered long and hard the past few months about the intensity of emotion being provoked in the political arena,

I have worried about the consequences not of a possible impeachment, but of the crescendo of hatred that seems to have erupted in our beautiful land,.

Still I was totally unprepared for the published article by a renowned and talented writer under the headline wishing “A miserable little Christmas” to another.

Somewhere in the noise generated not only in Congress but also in the daily anguished reporting on TV, Social Media and of course, surviving printed newspapers, I seem to hear a faint whisper, barely audible.

It clamors to be heard above the roar of louder voices and is becoming fainter daily.

The article printed this week with the title written in venom threatened to drown out the words spoken by Tiny Tim.

“God bless us all, everyone.”

If the loud voices would be quiet , perhaps it could still be heard.
