I listened to it faithfully on a small radio in our kitchen perched atop of the icebox until I finally reached a quite delayed adolescence.
Today, Thursday, is not an auspicious day. Nothing is written in red letters on my Ipad calendar.

I suddenly realized that’s exactly what I want to do now, at this very moment.
Just for today, I will refuse to discuss, evaluate or dwell upon:
Covid 19 in any way, shape or form
Fauci, Trump, Biden or AOC
Diets, healthy or bizarre
CNBC, CNN, or FOX news commentators and/or opinions
Depression either mine or others
Length of Lockdown and/or isolation
Quality, color or wearability of masks
The need for a haircut
Just for today, however, I plan to concentrate on the topics of:
Fresh Berries in season, blueberry, strawberry and/or huckleberries
Along with amazing ways to enjoy their brief availability.
Glorious summer sun, fresh air, magnificent skies, amazing water views
Laughter in any way, shape or form
Thomas Merton
Tommy Dorsey’s music
Michael Connelly’s newest book
Zucchini bread recipes
And the wonderful possibility of ordering peach ice cream for dessert
Shared with the companionship of kindred souls
But that’s just for today..........
Tomorrow I’ll return to reality, I promise..........
