This morning my coffee cup is perched on a glass table overlooking a patio resplendent with ruby red poinsettias where I am currently visiting one of the Fabulous Four

I am in San Diego, luxuriating in the sun and away from the Midwest snow, but I am also perplexed.

I had virtually completed my latest endeavor “And So It Goes,” a collection of opinions, words, and thoughts that were published in The Massapequa Patch during 2015.

Because I only have three more chapters to edit, I optimistically believed it would be an easy task while visiting the California clan of our family.

However, I now realize I need far more assistance than Google will provide so I am eagerly awaiting two visitors whose knowledge so far surpasses mine.

Hannah and Emaree are far younger than I, by more than half a century. I was initially dubious of their ability, but now confess I am astounded at their technical expertise.

Saturday evening shortly after I arrived, weary from travel, I sat wrestling with a picture I had been trying to edit during my flight from the Midwest. Watching my obvious frustration from across the room, the younger of the two girls, Emaree, asked, “Can I help?”

I tried to explain diplomatically it was a complicated procedure and while I was immensely grateful for her thoughtfulness, doubted she could accomplish what I couldn’t. After all, Emaree is 8 years old, and I am, well, we’re not going to discuss that now.

Within seconds of my insensitive remark, the beautiful blonde youngster said, “Please, let me show you how to do it.”

And yes, she did precisely that. Within seconds, the picture was edited perfectly. Emaree had accomplished what I had wrestled with for close to an hour in less than five minutes.

Soon her older cousin, Hannah, who is 12, joined us, and asked if I would like her to also assist.. Having already learned a lesson, I accepted her offer eagerly and before their families departed later that evening, knew I had been given a cram course in photo editing.

Today I have reached another minor but irresolvable issue that must be corrected if “And So It Goes,” appears as an Ebook on Amazon before 2020.

I just hope my two new tech advisors are available for an emergency visit this afternoon. I am hopeful I can also book a few more appointments before I return home.
