Man Charged in Merrick Business Burglary: Police
BREAKING: The 28-year-old used a pry bar to smash the front glass doors of several stores in June, police say.
A 28-year-old Copiague man faces numerous burglary charges after being arrested in Lindenhurst Thursday, Nassau County police said.
According to police, Tyler Rock, of 28th Street, burglarized numerous Nassau County businesses in June. In each burglary, Rock used a pry bar to smash the front glass door, police said.
In two of the five incidents, Rock fled the scene prior to entering the business, police said. He stole money, cigarettes, scratch-off lottery tickets and assorted merchandise, police said.

Rock is charged in the following burglaries:
- June 22 - Broadway Groceries, 1139 N. Broadway, N. Massapequa
- June 22 - Barjay Cards, 3-10 Northwest Dr., Farmingdale (attempted)
- June 22 - B&G Stationary, 4139 Merrick Road, Massapequa
- June 25 – Colony Cards & Gifts, 1984 Merrick Road Merrick (attempted)
- June 25 – B&G Stationary, 4139 Merrick Road, Massapequa
Rock is charged with three counts of third degree burglary and two counts of third degree attempted burglary. He was due to be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Friday.
