Arrest Made in Stabbing at Massapequa Park

An 18-year-old was arrested on Wednesday.

A Wyandanch teen was arrested on Wednesday for assaulting a 17-year-old while playing basketball at the Field of Dreams Park in Massapequa back in October, according to Nassau Police.

Nahmiek Zeigler, 18, was charged with second degree assault and fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon, police said.

On Oct. 30, the teen playing basketball at the park located on 5660 Old Sunrise Highway he got into an argument with Zeigler, police said.

Zeigler then took out a small knife and stabbed the teen in his left upper arm, police said. The victim punched Zeigler causing him to fall and was able to run home so he could dial 911 for police assistance, police said.

Police responded and transported the victim to a local hospital to be treated for his injuries.

Zeigler will be arraigned on Thursday.
