Man Critically Injured After Being Struck By Car At Massapequa Gas Station

BREAKING: The driver passed two "Do Not Enter" signs before striking the man Sunday morning, police say.

MASSAPEQUA, NY – A 65-year-old man is in critical condition after being struck by a car at a Massapequa gas station Sunday morning, police said.

The man was walking out of the Bolla Market at the Mobil station located at 5839 Merrick Road when a 47-year-old man driving a 2009 Dodge Charger eastbound on Merrick Road made a left-hand turn into the parking lot, passing two “Do Not Enter” signs, police said.

The car struck the 65-year-old man as was approaching his parked vehicle near the gas pumps at 7:15 a.m. The man was transported by a Nassau County Police helicopter to a local hospital where he is listed in critical condition.

Police did not identify the driver or the man who was struck. No criminal charges have been filed. The investigation is ongoing.
