Marc Timpano Running For North Massapequa Fire Commissioner

In running for Fire Commissioner, an important, unpaid administrative duty that conducts the business aspect of the Fire Department, Timpano said that safeguarding the residents of his community is his first and foremost goal.
"I hope to ensure the safety and preservation of property and life for all North Massapequa residents by the well trained and committed men and women volunteers of the North Massapequa Fire Department," he said.

To call Timpano "busy" would be a bit of an understatement. In addition to dedicating 32 years of service to the volunteer fire department, he also serves as a Lieutenant with the Nassau County Police Department, the Vice President of the Plainedge Girls Softball Association, and as a husband and father of three children.
However, Timpano plans on fitting even more hours into the average day if elected to the Commissionership, which is comprised of a five-year term.

"The timing is right which affords me the opportunity to bring my management experience and firematic knowledge to a higher playing level," he said. "This position as Commissioner would put me on a team who directly lets one not only look out for the best interests of personal colleagues in fire and rescue protection, but also for the tax payers, families and community neighbors where I have grown up, rooted, and raised my own family".
Timpano is currently running for the position uncontested.
The North Massapequa Fire District election will take place on Tuesday, December 13, at the Fire Headquarters located 1000 North Broadway. The elections will run from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
