Massapequa Burger Joint Reopens After Blaze

The popular restaurant has been closed after a fire broke out in September.

The New York Burger Bar in Massapequa will be reopening on Thursday for the first time since a fire broke out at the restaurant back in September.

The local burger joint will host a grand reopening starting at 11:30 a.m. on Jan. 5.

"We look forward to seeing familiar faces and new ones also," a message on the restaurant's Facebook page reads.

A fire broke out at the basement of the building located on 4225 Merrick Road on Sept. 8.

The Massapequa, Massapequa Park and Seaford Fire Departments all responded and assisted in putting out the blaze.

To thank them for their service, members of the departments received free dinner on Wednesday night.

New York Burger Bar is open Sunday through Wednesday from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Thursday through Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to midnight.
