Massapequa Home Destroyed In Blaze

The home was found "fully engulfed" in flames early Tuesday morning, police say.

MASSAPEQUA, NY - A Massapequa home was destroyed in a house fire that occurred early Tuesday morning.

Nassau Police confirmed that a fire broke out at a home on 66 Gloucester Road at about 1:18 a.m.

The home was fully engulfed in flames, police said.

All residents made it out of the safety. The homeowner was treated for minor injuries at the scene but did not go to the hospital. No other injuries were reported.

According to the Massapequa Fire Department, the fire damaged the home as well as two cars and a boat in the driveway. The fire also caused heat damage to the house next door.

The blaze was under control in about 30 minutes and completely put out after an hour and 15 minutes.

The fire appeared to have been started by the trash cans on the side of the garage. The fire marshal is currently investigating, but it appears the fire was not suspicious.
