Massapequa Park Couple Wins More Than $20,000 on Wheel of Fortune

Newlyweds also win trip to the Dominican Republic

The Wheel of Fortune was kind to a Masspequa Park couple, until the final spin.

Jessie and Mike Zwicker did not come away with the top prize on the episode which aired Thursday, but came away with a very respectable $21,510 including a trip to the Dominican Republic.

The couple, who took part in the show's "Newlyweds Week," showed impressive puzzle solving skills, as they were able to correctly guess the answer to three puzzles on the show.

But that should come as no surprise since they are both teachers, Mike teaches at IS 125 on Queens, while Jessie is a math teacher in Valley Stream.

While chatting with host, Pat Sajack, Mike said they were fixed up by a college friend.

"The rest is history," he said. But the wedding was a little bumpy as Jessie said the minister called her "Vanessa" for the first 10 mnutes of the service.

The couple moved into the lead after solving the puzzle that won the trip, but on the final puzzle they lost out to Johnathon and Kristen Eylet of Shepherdatown, West Virginia, who came away with $75,000 in cash and prizes.
