Massapequa Park Man Seriously Injured In Crash With Tractor-Trailer: Police

The 52-year-old was airlifted to the hospital after rear-ending the tractor-trailer Saturday morning.

EAST FARMINGDALE, NY - A Massapequa Park man was seriously injured in an East Farmingdale crash involving a tractor-trailer on Saturday morning, according to Suffolk Police.

Michael Schunk, 52, was driving a Chevrolet Tahoe southbound on Route 110, south of Conklin Avenue, when his car hit the back of a southbound tractor-trailer at 3:15 a.m.

Schunk was airlifted by Suffolk County Police helicopter to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious injuries, police said.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, Paul Danoski, 55, of Islip, was not injured.

The SUV was impounded for a safety check.

Motor Carrier Safety Section conducted a safety check on the tractor-trailer. The investigation is continuing.
