Nassau Police Warn Residents Of Phone Scam
Spoofers have been able to imitate NCPD numbers, the department said, and are trying to scam residents.

The Nassau County Police Department is warning residents of a new phone scam where spoofers are using actual NCPD phone numbers to scam residents.
The department said that scammers have been able to spoof actual NCPD phone numbers, and have used them to appear legitimate when calling residents to try to get them to send money.
Nassau County Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder said that the department will never ask for credit card numbers over the phone, and will not request prepaid debit cards or wire transfers.
