Remember that rainy afternoon when you said, “If only I had time to........”

Or the Sunday night when I voiced a regret,

“I never have time for.........”

Perhaps the luncheon when you told your friends

“I wish I had been able to..........”

and how often we complained

“I can’t because there’s never enough time,.........”

I am abashed remembering how often, not only I, spoke those belated words but heard them from friends and family.

Without warning, suddenly we share an abundance of time. Perhaps this is the precise moment ro recall all those forgotten laments..

Because today,

We have time to memorize a sonnet and/or

Bake cinnamon rolls as well as

Relocate a classmate from high school, or

Proceed to write the long promised memoir

Enroll in an online computer course in French literature

Google instructions and learn to skype an isolated neighbor

As well as listening to Beethoven

Purge any clothing that has been unworn for over two years

Admit the exercise bike still works when used

Realize there is ample time to reread Graham Greene in entity before

Updating a playlist but only after

Reading the Bible and

Still learn to Play solitaire,or poker or do an online puzzle or

Maybe the best choice might be

Doing absolutely nothing, but simply enjoying all the time we always said we wanted.
